Mr Derrick Wan joined the Ministry of Finance as Director (Governance and Investments) in Nov 2008. Previously, he was Director (Investments and Projects) in the Central Provident Fund and has held appointments in the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Defense.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) charter holder. He also holds a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification and a Masters in Financial Engineering from the University of Singapore.

He was awarded the Overseas Merit Scholarship to study at the University of York, England, where he graduated with First Class Honours (with Distinction) in Economics and Econometrics 1995. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University, New York in 2005.
